The table below lists most of the significant and not so significant off season acquisitions. So far the Flyers and Islanders have done quite well with their off season acquisitions while the Rangers and Oilers haven’t fared too well considering the money they spent. Although he didn’t change teams, I have included Vanek in the list because he was given an offer sheet.

    What, no JR?

  2.

Oops. Missed him. He is added in now. He is off to a pretty good start too.

I’d say Toronto deserves some points for picking up Blake and Gamache who are both turning out alright. Toskala is still hard to figure out, he makes huge saves but still has an .886 save percentage and a losing record.

Vancouver’s pickups appear relatively useless. Anaheim are having injury issues. Philly have done well signing Briere and Timonnen, and Lupul is resurgent now that he’s out from under the stress of the Pronger deal in Edmonton. As for the Rangers, Drury is at almost a ppg pace, but Gomez has been a bit off. It doesn’t help that Jagr only has 1 goal through 8 games though. They’ll sort things out eventually I’m sure.

Oh, and what about Keith Tkachuk, he did finish last season with Atlanta. That’d make him an off season addition to the Blues and he’s got 6 points in 6 games.
