There are 12 games on the NHL schedule today with several being extremely important for playoff positioning.

Toronto-Montreal – This is close to a must win for Toronto. It will be extremely difficult for the Leafs to make the playoffs if they let the teams they need to catch, including Montreal, get much further ahead. I think Toronto will come out strong in this game and have a good chance of getting the win.

NY Islanders-Atlanta – The Islanders are in almost the same position as the Leafs. They really can’t let the gap between themselves and Atlanta and Montreal get any larger if they intend to challenge for a playoff spot. I like Atlanta to win this game.

Carolina-Washington – This means very little to the playoffs but I wanted to point out the stupidity of the NHL schedule this year. Tonights Carolina-Washington game will be the first of *five* times these two teams play each other in the next 2 weeks. Five of Washingtons next 7 games are against Carolina and 5 of Carolina’s next 8 are against Washington. How absurd is this?

Vancouver-Edmonton – The third of 3 straight games these two teams have played each other. Vancouver has won the first 2 games, the second in a shootout. I like Edmonton to win this one.

I think this is pretty obvious, but instead of your game predictions, you put the predicted final standings. I don’t know if this was just a mistake or if you wanted to put both, but if you could please put the game predictions on also? That’d be good, but you can leave the standings on or make that another post.

Correction: yesterday CGY was an Inverted favorite instead of Some favorite (it was my mistake). Anyway, I do not recommend to bet on Good/Some favorites. Tonight:

Strong: ATL, DET, COL, ANA, NSH
    Good/Some: NONE
    Inverted: CAR, VAN
Home: BOS, MTL, PHI, TBL, MIN

Fantastic standings! I have to bet on all 12 games: ATL, DET, COL, ANA, NSH, WSH, EDM, BOS, MTL, PHI, TBL, MIN

Personally, I would pick Nashville over Los Angeles, especially with Pavol Demitra having nose surgery yesterday. But they have John Torcelli as their new coach, who as spent the past four days getting acquainted to the team. When I found out Andy Murray was fired, I was surprised. Maybe we could have an upset today.

I agree on Atlanta, have a ML play on them, the others were not strong enough for me toplay. GL on all your plays. PS glad to see you are not fading yourself like you did the other day. LOL

WSH-CAR reminds me WSH-TBL on March 23rd. CAR and VAN could win, but in OT or SO.
