San Jose has been doing really good since acquiring Joe Thornton. They were the runner-ups in the Western Conference finals back in ’04. If Evgeni Nabokov can get healthy, San Jose could creep into the playoffs.

The Rangers are perhaps the best team in the league right now. Why are they ranked 18th, below Toronto of all teams!

The Rangers are moving up the list quickly and if I posted todays power rankings they would be ahead of Toronto. But they have played a fairly easy schedule and haven’t defeated teams above them in the list very often (go check their results and you will see for yourself). You have to beat the top teams to be considered a top team.
